Blog Assignment 5

This assignment is due by April 3rd by 8:30 p.m. Please remember to comment on 2 other blogs.
We are going back to basics.  In keeping with the unit we are doing in class, you will have to apply the knowledge from class. Remember that we always look for connections to what we have covered in class.
  1. Read the article in your text on pages 499-501.  Answer the following questions.
  2. What is the topic of this article?
  3. What is the main idea?
  4. What types of details are used to support the main points of the article?
  5. Write a short paragraph explaining your position on this question:   Do you think US citizens, who smoke, are victims of discrimination? Why or why not.
  6. Do you think that the government is invading our personal lives too much? Give an example.

Blog Assignmnet 4

I know ths is your break, but we still have work to do. This assignment is due by 8:30 , March 27th.  This assignments connects to the previous one about cell phones.  Judging by your reactions to that article, I thought this would be a good tie in.  Remember learning is all about making connections to previous information.
After viewing this video, write a short piece on YOUR reaction to the PSA. You might consider the following questions to get you started:
Did this video change your mind about texting or did you actually change your habit of texting?
Do you think this video should be required viewing for all drivers, new and old?
